After nearly a decade of waiting, Samus is finally back with an all-new adventure.

After receiving a distress signal from a nearby Galactic Federation base, Samus Aran arrives to find the Space Pirates attacking the base, with Sylux leading the charge. It seems that the Pirates continued their experiments on the Metroids, as the pirates can fuse with them to become even stronger. Just as she repels the attack, an artifact is disturbed, and Samus wakes up to find herself on a strange new world.
