America is a Christian Nation

Multiple foundational national documents highlight America’s historical connection to the Christian faith.
 In the Declaration of Independence, we read:
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness…”

The Pledge of Allegiance to the American flag declares:
“I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

To deny that America is a Christian nation is to deny the truth about American history.
