Chicken and Shrimp Chowder

This month we are celebrating the best trilogy of all time the Lord of the Rings, and what better way to celebrate than with Tatter-fest? This week we are making a nice chicken and shrimp chowder that would keep even the smallest of hobbits nice and warm while traveling through a misty swamp.

Recipe:
3 medium russet potatoes
1/2 white yellow onion
1 stick celery
3 chicken thighs
1/4 lbs shrimp
1 Tbsp bacon fat (optional)
2 Tbsp olive oil
1 Tbsp unsalted butter
salt
black pepper
onion powder
garlic powder
thyme
pinch of all spice
1/4 cup dill pickle juice brine
8oz water/ light beer (optional)
1/4 whole milk
