GLOCK Gen6 is Here!

GLOCK finally pulled the curtain back on the new Gen6 pistols, and yeah… there’s a lot to talk about. Gun Talk’s Ryan Gresham was on the ground at GLOCK HQ for the unveiling, getting hands-on with the G17, G19, and G45 Gen6 to see what’s actually new — and what just looks new.

The big story? Ergonomics. GLOCK added a palm swell, an extended thumb rest, a bigger beavertail, and a new blended texture that gives you more real estate without chewing up your hands. Add in the deeper slide serrations and you’ve got a pistol that’s easier to run hard and fast.

They also rolled in a redesigned flat-faced trigger, a higher undercut, and a shorter reach — meaning more shooters can get a proper grip and proper trigger press. And yes, it keeps the Safe Action System.

Another big upgrade: the new Gen6 optic-ready system. Three plates in the box, screw directly into the slide, and built for durability — finally a factory setup that doesn’t feel like an afterthought.
