Welcome to Just For Today Recovery and Sobriety! 👋 Today is a special episode where we are kicking off our 21-Day Countdown to Christmas using the Gospel of John. We are covering Day 1 and Day 2 together, plus our daily NA Spiritual Principle a Day reading.

Whether you are in AA, NA, or just seeking a closer walk with God, this message is for you.

In this video:
We look at John Chapter 1 and the power of "The Light" to break through the darkness of addiction. Then, we move to John Chapter 2 and discuss "Cleaning House"—letting God flip the tables in our hearts (Steps 4-7).

📖 Today's Devotionals
DAY 1: OUT OF THE SHADOWS (John Chapter 1)
"In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not." — John 1:4-5 (KJV)
Addiction thrives in the dark. It convinces us that if we stay hidden, we are safe. But deep down, we know the darkness is lonely. Today, we step into the Light. No matter how deep the hole feels, the Light is stronger.
DAY 2: TIME TO CLEAN HOUSE (John Chapter 2)
"And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise." — John 2:16 (KJV)
In John Chapter 2, Jesus cleanses the temple. In recovery, we are the temple. We have to be willing to let the Higher Power come in and flip the tables on our resentments, fears, and secrets. We can’t hold onto the "merchandise" of our past and expect a spiritual awakening.

🙏 Daily Prayers
Day 1 Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the Light that shines in my darkness. I am tired of hiding. I surrender my secrets and my struggles to You today. Please let Your Light guide my steps and keep me honest, sober, and free just for today. Amen.
Day 2 Prayer:
Lord, I invite You into my heart today. I grant You permission to look at the messy corners of my life—my anger, my pride, and my fear. Flip the tables if You have to, Lord, but make me clean and whole again. Amen.

Is NA for me?
This is a question every potential member must answer for themselves. It may help to read some of our informational pamphlets, starting with
"Am I an addict?"
https://m.na.org/?ID=ips-an-an-IP7 Addict?
and
"Welcome to NA".
https://www.na.org/admin/include/spaw2/uploads/pdf/litfiles/us_english/IP/EN3122.pdfA.doc

If you’re an addict, NA can help. "Narcotics Anonymous offers recovery to addicts around the world. We focus on the disease of addiction rather than any particular drug. Our message is broad enough to attract addicts from any social class or nationality. When new members come to meetings, our sole interest is in their desire for freedom from active addiction and how we can be of help." (It Works: How and Why, “Third Tradition”)
