Led Zeppelin’s March 21, 1975 concert at the Seattle Center Coliseum was one of the standout performances of their 1975 North American tour. It featured the band’s classic lineup (Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones, and John Bonham) in strong form, with extended improvisations, including a 42-minute version of “Dazed and Confused.” Many fans consider this Seattle appearance one of the most complete and powerful shows from that tour.

Led Zeppelin were an English rock band formed in London in 1968. The group consisted of Robert Plant (vocals), Jimmy Page (guitar), John Paul Jones (bass/keyboards), and John Bonham (drums). Known for their heavy, guitar driven sound, they are widely regarded as pioneers of hard rock and heavy metal, though their music drew on diverse influences including blues and folk. The band profoundly shaped the music industry, particularly through the rise of album oriented rock (AOR) and the era of stadium rock.
Signed to Atlantic Records with a contract granting them unusual artistic freedom, Led Zeppelin overcame early critical skepticism to achieve massive commercial success, releasing eight studio albums over a decade. Their 1969 debut, Led Zeppelin, reached the top ten in several countries and featured “Good Times Bad Times,” “Dazed and Confused,” and “Communication Breakdown.” Later that year, Led Zeppelin II became their first number one album, highlighted by “Ramble On” and “Whole Lotta Love.” In 1970, Led Zeppelin III introduced “Immigrant Song.” Their untitled fourth album, commonly called Led Zeppelin IV (1971), ranks among the best selling albums in history with over 37 million copies sold, including classics such as “Black Dog,” “Rock and Roll,” and “Stairway to Heaven,” one of the most influential songs in rock. Houses of the Holy (1973) added “The Ocean,” “Over the Hills and Far Away,” and “The Rain Song,” while the double album Physical Graffiti (1975) showcased “Trampled Under Foot” and “Kashmir.”
Page composed much of the band’s music, especially early on, while Plant provided most of the lyrics. Jones’s keyboard driven contributions later became central to their evolving sound, which grew increasingly experimental. The latter half of their career was marked by record breaking tours and a reputation for excess. Despite continued success, their output slowed with Presence (1976) and In Through the Out Door (1979). The band disbanded following Bonham’s death in 1980. Since then, the surviving members have reunited occasionally, most notably at the 2007 Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert in London, with Jason Bonham on drums.
