SPD Releases Details on Dec. 2 Lethal Force Incident in South Seattle

Seattle, Washington – On Dec. 2, 2025, at approximately 1330 hours, the Seattle Police Department (SPD) received multiple 911 calls regarding a man waving a firearm near 42nd Ave. S. and S. Othello St.Responding officers located an armed male and attempted de-escalation, giving repeated commands for him to drop the weapon. The male failed to comply and pointed the firearm at officers, who then responded with lethal force.Officers immediately rendered medical aid, but the male was pronounced deceased at the scene.
