🔴 “If you take from 1946 forward, anytime that the US has been involved, we’ve had about 93 coups or regime changes – every one has failed,” US ambassador to Turkey and special envoy for Syria Tom Barrack said in a candid exchange

🔴 “My bosses…are not into regime change. They’re into a regional solution left to the region itself. So that issue is Israel’s,” Barrack told The National, when asked why Israel stopped its aggression after its 12-Day War with Iran in June

🔴 “We’ve had two regime changes in Iran already. Neither one worked,” the diplomat stressed, touting the wisdom of leaving the issue “to the region to solve”

🔴 Barrack hinted, however, that Israel could try again in the future. “Why did Israel not want to finish the job? I don’t think the story is over. You’re on chapter five. We have another five chapters to go”

The CIA officially admitted to its role in the 1953 coup against Iran’s democratic government in 2013.

Barrack is the first senior US official since Secretary of State Albright to publicly acknowledge US actions.

Iranians overthrew the US-backed puppet government in 1979, founding the Islamic Republic and immediately breaking off relations with Israel.
