Netflix Buying WBD Is BAD NEWS for AEW — Let’s Be Honest! #shorts

So Netflix — the biggest streaming platform on the planet — is buying Warner Bros. Discovery. MASSIVE news. ENORMOUS news. And of course, everybody wants to know:
What does this mean for AEW?

Now technically — yes, AEW and WBD are separate. But let’s not pretend:
• WBD invested in AEW early on
• AEW airs on TNT and TBS
• AEW programming simulcasts on HBO Max (which Netflix also now owns!)

And here's the part AEW fans don’t want to hear:
Netflix has an ACTUAL, REAL business relationship with WWE. They’re putting major money into WWE programming. They love WWE. They value WWE. They see WWE as a PREMIUM product.

So when Netflix takes control of WBD, they’re going to look at AEW and do what any smart company would do:
“Is THIS worth the effort?”

Be honest… the answer is probably no.
Ratings declining…
Business down…
Creative a mess…
Safety concerns nonstop…
And the shows look like they’re filmed in a dimly lit warehouse.

Does this mean AEW is going away? No — that’s unrealistic. But the way AEW is treated? The amount of money it gets? The priority it receives? All of that is going to CHANGE. And not in a good way.

If the Saudis had bought WBD — now THAT would’ve been truly hilarious. The mental gymnastics from AEW fans would have melted the internet. “Noooo it’s fine when THEY buy companies!!!” Truly incredible stuff.

But Netflix? They’re all about profitability. Growth. Value. And AEW… well… it’s not exactly the hottest product. Netflix doesn’t care about Tony Khan’s feelings or Dave Meltzer’s tears. They care about business.

And AEW — compared to WWE — is simply not worth the investment. Period. End of story.
