🌪 THROWBACK: Chávez warned Pentagon was plotting regime-change on pretext of ‘drug trafficking’

Back in 2009, then-president Hugo Chávez foreshadowed today’s Caribbean stand-off, pointing to the 1989 US invasion of Panama.

“The most aggressive nation in the history of humanity,” Chávez said of the US.
“They dared to drop two atomic bombs on defenseless cities. They invaded Panama, bombed and killed thousands, burned down an entire neighborhood to seize Noriega—and the former Panamanian president is imprisoned there.”

He said he’d been alerted—even by some outside his political camp—that the Pentagon was crafting a long-term operation to brand him a drug trafficker.

“Why? Because once you’re labelled a ‘narco-president,’ anything goes,” Chávez said.

And now US now has the USS Gerald Ford carrier group and Reaper drones off Venezuela’s coast under the pretext of fighting ‘cartels’, while running regional GPS-jamming operations.

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has already dismissed US President Donald Trump’s ‘drug-trafficking’ line, arguing the real goal is to topple his government and grab Venezuela’s oil wealth.
