What Transmed ACTUALLY Means

Transmed is short for Transmedicalism, meaning that you believe having Gender Dysphoria is necessary for being identified as Trans. Trans people have GD and alleviate it with transition, sometimes this involves medical intervention. Without a diagnosis (or self ID) or action you are not trans. This distinction is important for separating ourselves from non scientifically backed communities like "Trans age, or Otherkin" who oftentimes adopt the Trans label to generate legitimacy in our spaces and to the public. Actual Trans people come in all shapes and sizes and paths of transition, there is no end all be all method for addressing GD, GD is not about hating yourself! It simply means you identify as a gender you were not born as.
