When Empty is NOT the End

Good morning and welcome to Wake Up, where we wake up. Pastor Scot and Pastor Holly are talking about what to do when it feels like you do not have enough time, energy, money, encouragement, or joy to give anyone anything.

They dive into the powerful story in 1 Kings 17 of the widow who thought she only had enough flour and oil for one last meal before she and her son died. Elijah asked her to make him something first and give what little she had. When she put it in God’s hands, the flour did not run out and the oil did not run dry.

God knows when you wish you could do more but only have a little.

He sees the desire, the intent, and the willingness to give from what seems small.

Your little seed of time, money, help, or kindness is precious to Him.

He is able to enlarge it, maximize it, and use it to magnify Himself.

🆚 The trap of comparison and the mindset of lack

We look at what others can give or do and think, “Mine does not matter.”

The enemy loves to live in that feeling of lack and “not enough.”

When you choose to say, “I will give what I have anyway,” you break that lie.

💒 Serving, tithing, and trusting God with increase

Everyone should find a way to give some time to their local church.
The house of God is the most powerful place on earth to impact lives.

Tithing is bringing what already belongs to God.

“I do not have enough to tithe.”

The truth is, you do not have enough not to tithe.

Stop waiting until you feel like you have “enough” to start giving. Take whatever is in your hand and put it in God’s hands. He sees your heart, multiplies your seed, and turns “not enough” into more than enough.

Lord, thank You that even when we feel like what we have is small, You see it, value it, and are able to multiply it. Help us to give our time, encouragement, grace, and resources generously, even when it feels like a little. We trust that as we sow, You will bring back a harvest, pressed down and shaken together, more than we can contain. In Jesus’ name, amen.
