Saint John in Exile on Patmos

One of Jesus's disciples, John, was to be martyred by boiling in oil as a punishment for preaching the Resurrected Jesus Christ as God and Savior. John was lowered into the boiling oil and was miraculously preserved from the effects and was not killed. So, Rome had to punish him by sending him to work in exile on the island of Patmos. He is all alone and has time to reflect and tell us about his life, faith, and troubles. This is a one-man play developed by Dean Jones. He traveled performing it until he put it on video.

Imprisoned, John, the last living disciple of Jesus’ twelve, remains full of humor, strong in spirit, and obstinately spry. Through his eyes, we relive the moving events in which Jesus Christ changed the course of human history. Emmy award-winning director Dan Curtis directs St. John in Exile with great skill and awesome power.
