Evil Oni - An Alcohol Marker Sketch with a Darkwave Soundtrack

An evil Oni lurks in the forest, waiting to ambush lost hikers. Its evil nature compels it to laugh maniacally, and this creepy laugh scares away anyone who approaches the forest's edge. It will never catch an unsuspecting hiker this way. It hatches a new plan to catch potential victims.

The Oni realizes that if it can make its laugh sound more normal (like people at a drunken party) it might lure more victims into the forest. Despite its limited intelligence, it strains to mimic the sound of a raging party.

Eventually, the plan works. Drunken revelers hear what they think is an after-party and venture into the dark woods. The Oni immediately attacks, goring the first person with its horned armor. When it reveals itself to the others, they die of heart attacks at the sight of its horrific face. The Oni feasts on their souls, sustaining itself for millennia to come.

But the Oni's victory is short-lived. A construction project threatens the forest, and the contractor is bringing priests, monks, sorcerers and shaman to exorcise the demon and send it back to hell. The haunted forest will soon be replaced by a corporate bank.

Ironically the bank manager sees potential in the Oni’s evil personality and hires him as a loan officer at the new bank. It will be allowed to continue preying on victims, this time in the form of delinquent borrowers.

This drawing was created with alcohol markers with a bit of some acrylic marker overlays. Music was composed in mpc 2 with various synths like iona, jura and pigments from Arturia. That’s all for now, thanks for looking 😊
