Mickey (Warren Beatty) drifts through the underground clubs of Chicago under an assumed name, encountering Jenny (Alexandra Stewart), a sympathetic artist, as he desperately tries to understand what he's running from and whether redemption is even possible in a world where danger feels omnipresent.
