"Rajiv ji balances deep scholarly rigor with catchy phrases easy to transmit" – Pankaj Saxena

“At the same time, this is very difficult to balance — two very different, you know, expertise that Rajiv Malhotra brings to his work. One is going to the depths of a subject, investigating with scholarly rigor and discipline on one hand. So, very deep research, you know, going to the fundamentals, going to the meta causes of what is happening to India, to Hindu society with different religions. But on the other hand, creating phraseology and terminology which is so brief, so catchy, that they have become verbs. They have become phrasal verbs in our vocabulary, now to describe what's happening to Hindu society.

For example, 'Breaking India' is now a term. It is not just a phenomenon — that book was not just a groundbreaking work with in-depth research, but also a very catchy phrase, which is very easy to understand and to spread. So his unique contribution — and not just that, atrocity literature, many phrases and terms that he coined. So, on one hand, very deep research; on another hand, being able to summarize that, capture that in not more than 20–25 terms and phrases, which are very easy to actually transmit to the masses. So that's why he became a phenomenon, in my view.” – Pankaj Saxena, Author and Co-founder, Bṛhat.
