St Andrews Novena
Hail and blessed be the hour and moment
in which the Son of God was born
of the most pure Virgin Mary,
at midnight, in Bethlehem, in piercing cold.
In that hour vouchsafe, I beseech Thee, O my God,
to hear my prayer and grant my desires,
through the merits of Our Savior Jesus Christ,
and of His Blessed Mother. Amen.

The Glories of Mary – St. Alphonsus de Liguori
Why this one fits your episode perfectly:
• It’s a classic of traditional Catholic Mariology written by a Doctor of the Church, and has been loved and used for centuries.
• The book doesn’t just give pious thoughts it collects the Fathers, Doctors, liturgy, and approved theologians, then weaves in St. Alphonsus’s own fiery, traditional commentary.
• It includes a full discourse specifically on the Immaculate Conception, along with theological proofs and explanations of Marian privileges.
• One section on Mary’s pure heart and fittingness for the Immaculate Conception is explicitly drawn from this work and often quoted separately in traditional circles.
How you could use it in the episode
• Pull direct lines from the discourse “On the Immaculate Conception” for:
o God’s fitting preparation of Mary
o The link between her sinlessness and her role as Mother of God
o Her enmity with Satan and role in spiritual warfare
• Use his patristic citations as your “chorus of witnesses” when you talk about:
o The New Eve
o Mary as the Ark
o The logic of her preservation from original sin
You know if we were all so priveledge that in one moment of our life we could see what is happening in heaven I guarantee you we would all just stop and change our lives immediuately. We would put always all pettiness and time wasting and focus on nothing but eternity. We would see all just adoring God constantly and being in perfect joy because they realize nothing is about them its all about God. You would see every angels, every saint everyone who was fornute enough to be in heaven focusing on the only thing that matters. GOD. So why do we waste so much time worrying about the unnecessary and its because do to original sin we lost sight of God. We truly must fight every day of our lives to put our life back in order and it seems almost impossble due to original sin but it is not. Because the one human being that never lost sight of God was Mary. Mary is our go to person, Mary is the one true beginning of our redemption and the one who help gain our sight back. That’s if we want our sight back.
The Immaculate Conception: The All-Pure Beginning of Our Redemption
THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION
Mary, the Sinless Ark & the First Victory of Christ
SEGMENT I: WHAT THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION REALLY MEANS
The Immaculate Conception is among the most misunderstood doctrines in Christianity. Even among Catholics, many still confuse it with the virginal conception of Christ. But this dogma refers not to how Jesus was conceived, but to how Mary herself was conceived.
The Church solemnly defines:
That the Most Blessed Virgin Mary, in the first instant of her conception, by a singular grace and privilege of Almighty God, in view of the merits of Jesus Christ, was preserved immune from all stain of original sin.
This teaching was infallibly proclaimed in 1854 by
Pope Pius IX in Ineffabilis Deus.
Two essential truths are contained in this definition:
1. Mary was conceived without original sin
2. This was accomplished solely by the merits of Christ
She was not exempt from needing a Savior rather, she was saved in the most perfect way possible. While we are rescued from the pit after falling, Mary was prevented from ever falling in.
This instantly destroys the modern heresy that sin is inevitable, that holiness is unrealistic, and that moral purity is obsolete. The Immaculate Conception proclaims the opposite:
Grace is stronger than sin.
SEGMENT II — THE FIRST GOSPEL AND TOTAL ENMITY
The doctrine of the Immaculate Conception is not a medieval invention. It is already present in Genesis 3:15, called the Protoevangelium the first Gospel ever preached:
“I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; she shall crush thy head.”
God Himself establishes total warfare between the serpent and the woman.
The critical word here is enmity. Absolute opposition. Not partial. Not temporary. Not wounded.
If Mary had ever possessed original sin even for a single instant—Satan would have had some claim over her. But God declares she is placed in perfect opposition to him.
Thus, Mary is not merely healed from Satan’s power.
She is never under it.
This is why the early Fathers call her:
• The New Eve
• The Undoer of Eve’s knot
• The woman whose obedience undoes the catastrophe of female rebellion
SEGMENT III — THE ARK THAT COULD NOT BE TOUCHED
The Old Testament Ark of the Covenant was constructed of:
• Incorruptible acacia wood
• Gold within and without
• Consecrated exclusively for Divine Presence
Inside it were:
• The manna (Heavenly Bread)
• The Law (Divine Word)
• The rod of Aaron (Priestly authority)
One man Uzzah touched the Ark irreverently and was struck dead on the spot.
Why? Because God does not permit the profane to touch what is perfectly holy.
The Fathers make the connection immediately:
Mary is the living Ark of the New Covenant.
Inside her womb:
• The Word made Flesh
• The true Bread from Heaven
• The Eternal High Priest
If God required the utmost ritual purity for a wooden vessel…
How much more absolute spiritual perfection for the woman who would carry God Himself within her flesh?
Thus the Immaculate Conception is not excessive devotion.
It is Divine logic.
SEGMENT IV — THE THEOLOGICAL BATTLE & DUNS SCOTUS
For centuries, theologians wrestled with a question:
How can Mary be conceived without sin if Christ alone redeems?
The solution came through
John Duns Scotus.
He taught the Church that Mary was redeemed:
• Not after contracting sin
• But before ever falling into it
• By the future merits of Christ applied beforehand
This is called prevenient grace - preventative redemption.
Scotus explained:
• A doctor who heals a broken bone is good
• A doctor who prevents the bone from breaking is greater
Christ is not less Redeemer because of Mary’s sinlessness.
He is the most powerful Redeemer possible, because His grace works outside of time.
SEGMENT V — ST. THOMAS, DEVELOPMENT & FINAL CLARITY
Even
St. Thomas Aquinas initially struggled with the formulation—not because he doubted Mary’s holiness, but because the theological categories for prevenient grace were not yet fully developed.
Later theologians reconciled Aquinas with the final teaching:
• Mary was redeemed
• But in a more exalted way
• By being preserved, not healed
This shows something critical:
Dogma develops; truth does not change.
The Church does not invent doctrine it clarifies what was always present.
SEGMENT VI — HEAVEN CONFIRMS THE DOGMA AT LOURDES
In 1854, the dogma is defined.
In 1858, Heaven answers.
At Lourdes, a poor illiterate girl named Bernadette asks the Lady her name.
Mary replies:
“I am the Immaculate Conception.”
Not “I was conceived immaculately.”
But “I am.”
Her very identity is defined by the grace of God.
Bernadette did not understand these words. She could barely pronounce them correctly. But Heaven was confirming:
This doctrine is not theologians speaking.
It is God revealing His work.
SEGMENT VII — TOTAL WARFARE AGAINST SATAN
Here we come to the militant meaning of this doctrine.
St. Maximilian Kolbe taught that Satan fell through pride, while Mary crushes him through total humility.
Satan says:
“I will not serve.”
Mary says:
“Be it done unto me.”
Every time a soul says “yes” to sin, it echoes Lucifer.
Every time a soul says “yes” to God, it echoes Mary.
The Immaculate Conception is not sentimental—it is the first act of Christ’s war against Hell in human history.

SEGMENT VIII — WHAT THIS DOGMA DESTROYS IN THE MODERN WORLD
The Immaculate Conception destroys:
• Protestant denial of Marian doctrine
• Feminist lies about womanhood
• Modern denial of original sin
• Psychological excuses for vice
• The “inevitability” of corruption
Mary proves:
• Purity is possible
• Obedience is powerful
• Grace is real
• Sin is not destiny
She stands as a living condemnation of modern moral surrender.

SEGMENT IX — WHAT THIS DOGMA DEMANDS OF US
If God created one sinless woman after the Fall…
Then holiness is not fiction.
The Immaculate Conception demands that we:
• Hate sin
• Love confession
• Practice modesty
• Consecrate ourselves to Mary
• Live supernatural lives in a poisoned culture
Mary reveals the true human vocation:
To be filled completely with God.
SEGMENT X: MARY & THE END TIMES
The Woman of Genesis becomes the Woman of Revelation:
“A woman clothed with the sun.”
The Immaculate Conception is not only the beginning of Christ’s victory.
It is also the promise of the final crushing of Satan’s empire at the end of time.
CONCLUSION
Mary never belonged to Satan.
Not for one instant.
Not for one breath.
Not for one heartbeat.
Before Calvary—
Before Bethlehem—
Before Nazareth—
Christ had already won His first victory
by creating His Mother without sin.
THE EPISTLE
Proverbs 8:22–35
“The Lord possessed me in the beginning of His ways.”
This extraordinary passage is the Church’s song to Divine Wisdom, which the Fathers unanimously identify as the Eternal Son of God—Christ Himself.
“I was set up from eternity, and of old before the earth was made.”
Here, Scripture opens a window into the eternal life of God:
• Christ is not created
• Christ is not an invention of history
• Christ is not a great teacher who appeared suddenly in time
He is Eternal Wisdom, existing before all creation.
1. Christ existed before the world and before Mary
This is essential to understand the Immaculate Conception properly.
Mary is not divine.
She is not eternal.
She is a creature.
But she was chosen from eternity in the mind of God to be the Mother of Eternal Wisdom.
Christ existed before the stars.
Yet for love of us, He willed to take flesh in time
and the vessel He chose was untouched by sin.
2. Wisdom delights in the sons of men
“My delights were to be with the children of men.”
What astonishing humility.
The Eternal Son before the mountains were formed—already looked forward to:
• the crib of Bethlehem
• the poverty of Nazareth
• the wood of the Cross
• and the womb of the Virgin
This is the heart of Advent:
God longing to dwell with man.
3. Blessed are they who keep My ways
Divine Wisdom promises:
• life
• grace
• blessing
• divine favor
This connects directly to the Immaculate Conception:
Mary kept His ways perfectly
not only by obedience,
but by being preserved from all sin by a singular grace.
She is not only the Mother of Wisdom
she is the Masterpiece of Wisdom.

SEGMENT II — THE GOSPEL
Luke 1:26–28
“Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.”
The Gospel takes us into the silence of Nazareth, where heaven interrupts history.
The Angel St. Gabriel appears to a young Virgin with words that no creature had ever heard before:
“Hail, full of grace.”
This is not a greeting.
It is a revelation.
1. “Full of grace” means completely untouched by sin
The angel does not say Mary received grace.
He says she is full of grace.
This confirms what the Church defines infallibly:
• Mary was never under the dominion of sin
• She was preserved by a singular privilege
• The merits of Christ were applied to her in advance
She was redeemed before being wounded.
This is the Immaculate Conception.
________________________________________
2. “The Lord is with thee”
God dwells by grace in every baptized soul.
But He dwelt physically in Mary.
Her soul was already God’s dwelling.
Her body would soon become God’s tabernacle.
This is why the Church sees her as:
• the Ark of the New Covenant
• the living monstrance
• the first tabernacle
3. The fear of heaven and the humility of Mary
“She was troubled at his saying.”
The Immaculate One is not proud.
She is not presumptuous.
She is not self-aware of her own magnificence.
She is troubled because true holiness is always humble.
Mary teaches us that God fills those who empty themselves.

SEGMENT III: THE MYSTERY OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION
This feast teaches three monumental truths:
1. Sin is not normal holiness is
The modern world treats sin as inevitable.
God proves otherwise by creating one human soul free from it.
Mary shows us what human nature looks like without corruption.
2. Christ’s redemption is all-powerful
Mary was saved by Christ just like us
but in a more perfect way.
We are cleansed after falling.
She was preserved from falling.
Both glorify Christ.
3. Mary is the Beginning of the New Creation
Before Christ restores the world,
He creates one new woman—
the New Eve—
immaculate, obedient, humble, radiant.
She stands at the threshold of redemption.

SEGMENT IV — ADVENT APPLICATION
1. Purity prepares the dwelling of Christ
Advent is the season to purify the soul:
• confession
• renunciation of sin
• guarding the senses
• interior silence
Christ still seeks a dwelling place.
2. Humility draws down grace
Mary did nothing to earn the Immaculate Conception.
It was pure gift.
Grace always descends where humility reigns.
3. Advent begins with Mary, not Bethlehem
Before Christ can be born in us,
Mary must first be formed in us:
• her obedience
• her silence
• her purity
• her trust
CONCLUSIONARY PRAYER
Let us pray.
O Immaculate Virgin Mary,
Daughter of the Father,
Mother of the Son,
and Spouse of the Holy Ghost,
we rejoice today in thy spotless beginning,
thy perfect holiness,
and thy singular privilege.
Thou wast preserved from all stain
to be the pure Mother of our Redeemer.
By thy intercession,
obtain for us a hatred of sin,
a love of purity,
and a heart prepared for Christ.
O Eternal Wisdom,
who didst delight to dwell in the womb of the Immaculate Virgin,
come now and take possession of our souls.
Prepare us this Advent
to receive Thee with clean hearts,
firm faith,
and burning love.
O Mary conceived without sin,
pray for us who have recourse to thee.
Amen.
