Synopsis
The story, based on Cornell Woolrich's novel The Black Path of Fear, centers on Chuck Scott (Robert Cummings), a down-on-his-luck World War II veteran suffering from hallucinations and possibly posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). After returning a lost wallet, he is hired as a chauffeur for the sadistic Miami mob boss Eddie Roman (Steve Cochran).
