I am a 32-year-old investor trying to find a way to reach financial freedom through simple options trading. I don't want to wait 30 years and rely on Social Security when it is time for me to stop working. The Goal is to generate income. Harvester Rules for trading: 6 Rules
1. Buy good investments! (I only like buying the top 10 stocks/ETFs) I don’t care for up-and-coming stock; I don’t care for cheap stock. I am choosing the winners of today.
1.1There is a reason they are priced the way they are…. They haven’t showcased their value to investors.
2. Red markets:
2.1Definition: When the stock/ETF price is below your buy-in point.
2.2Action: Never sell Covered Calls (CCs) below the buy-in point. Extend expirations instead
3. Green markets:
3.1Definition: When the stock/ETF is at or above your buy-in point
3.2 Action: Sell CCs 1-3 dollars away from at the money (as long as the market is above my buy-in point).
4. Cash Secured Puts (CSPs): Choose a delta of 0.25- 0.3 (I only look at Deltas for CSPs).
5. Dont buy back options. YOU MADE THE MONEY, DON'T GIVE IT BACK!
5.1. If your CC is getting assigned, let it go. No need to spend money to buy back option(s) and/or push expiration dates. This ties up capital that can be used to produce more premium.
5.2 Buying back CSP to then run another CSP is 50/50.
6. Margin usage is allowed, if used responsibly.
