How do Cave Pearls form?

What is a cave pearl? Can you eat them? Probably shouldn't. Cave pearls unlike other cave formations that can take thousands of years to form are thought to only take a few hundred years to create this spherical concretion. Generally they form around a grain of sand, rock, or bone fragment, but there have been studies published showing some of the bigger ones can even contain archaeological artifacts!
