Ray Comfort from Living Waters Ministries Doesn’t Agree With Kirk Cameron Views On Hell and Eternal Suffering. Kirk Cameron most recent podcast stated that his views have changed on Hell, and eternal suffering and its caused quiet the firestorm. This was on of th3e biggest stories in Christian News. Kirk Cameron said he doesn't believe that people will suffer for eternity because it doesn't fit with the character of God. Kirk Cameron has taken the position called Annihilationism. This causes a ministry associate of Kirk Cameron, Ray Comfort from Living Waters, to make a video saying his disagreements with Kirk on this and that Hell is eternal suffering. Ray Comfort is one of the most solid Bible teachers of our times and when he speaks we should listen. Kirk Cameron theological position called Annihilationism argues the wicked are eventually destroyed or cease to exist (e.g., citing “perish” in John 3:16, “destruction” in Phil 3:19, etc.). Most annihilationist's still affirm the punishment is eternal in its consequences (final, irreversible death), just not eternal in conscious experience. To be very clear about this, Kirk Cameron's position. Kirk Cameron Recommends this teaching by Edward Fudge called The Fire That Consumes. This is for those who are interested in going deeper. This is not heresy because we are not talking about primary theological positions but secondary positions. The plain reading of the New Testament, especially the words of Jesus Himself, presents the final fate of the unrepentant as conscious, unending punishment in hell/lake of fire. The dominant view in church history is that hell is eternal punishment. I'm going to give Kirk Cameron the benefit of doubt here but I am glad that Ray Comfort was able to come out and say he disagrees with Kirk on this one. Ray Comfort believes Hell will be eternal suffering. I don’t fully understand eternal suffering but I do trust in God and his justice and righteousness.
