Why the World Hates You

John 15:18 means that Christians should not be surprised by persecution or hatred from the world, because their allegiance to Christ places them in opposition to worldly values. Jesus taught that this hatred is a reflection of the hatred the world has for Him, and since He chose His followers out of the world, their new identity will inevitably cause conflict with those still in it.
