Invitation to Respond — Repent & Be Baptized

Today we worked through one of the clearest calls to respond to the gospel in all of Scripture: Acts 2:37–39.

After Peter boldly preached about Jesus’ death, resurrection, and lordship, the crowd was “pierced to the heart” and cried out, “What must we do?”

Peter’s answer was simple and powerful:

📖 “Repent and be baptized… and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 2:38)

We learned today that:

• Repentance is not a feeling — it is a turning
• Baptism is not a ceremony — it is obedience, allegiance, and identification
• New life is not self-improvement — it is resurrection
• Forgiveness is not earned — it is given
• The Holy Spirit is not optional — He is promised

And through Colossians 2:11–14, we saw the fullness of baptism:

• our old self is cut away
• we are buried with Christ
• we are raised with Christ
• we are forgiven
• our debt is erased
• our past is nailed to the cross

This is what baptism declares:
“I belong to Jesus now.”

If the Lord is calling you to repentance, baptism, or deeper obedience, don’t delay. The promise is for you, for your children, and for all who are far off.
