Ilhan Omar Is Sweating

President Donald Trump issued some of his strongest remarks yet about Somali immigrants in Minnesota, calling them “garbage” and saying he did not “want them in our country.” He tied these statements directly to public-safety concerns and national-security risks, arguing that federal resources should focus on individuals who pose threats. Trump also repeated his long-standing allegation that Rep. Ilhan Omar married her brother to gain entry to the U.S., saying she should “go back and fix her own country” and criticizing her record in Congress.

These comments come as federal authorities confirm active ICE enforcement operations in Minneapolis–Saint Paul. Agents have conducted targeted arrests at homes, community locations, and educational programs as part of ongoing immigration-status reviews. Federal officials say the operations follow investigations into alleged fraud, including large-scale public-benefits and medical-assistance schemes involving some individuals in the state. These investigations have produced charges and convictions that the administration cites as justification for intensified enforcement and taxpayer-protection efforts.
