The Light Will Return To Jerusalem - A Nation Redeemed!

The Jewish Holiday of Hanukkah is about Israel relighting the Jewish Menorah in the Holy Temple after Antiochus Epiphanies the Assyrian invaded Jerusalem and took it for himself, proclaiming to be God in the temple of God. This is recorded in the Book of Maccabees in the 1611 King James Apocrypha.

Israel was to be a light to all nations because they bare witness of YHVH. Yet, Israel refused the Messiah Yeshua Jesus who is the Light of the world, and now we who believe in Him receive the Holy Spirit which is like the flame that ignites our oil lamp so that we can bring forth His Light on the earth. For Jesus is our High Priest under the New Covenant, and it was customary for the High Priest to Light the Menorah, the 7 Branch Lampstand in the Temple of YHVH. And under the New Covenant YHVH dwells within our Tabernacle not made by hands, and His Spirit no longer dwells in the Holy Temple in Israel as before.

1 Corinthians 6:19 KJV — What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

It was on Hanukkah that Jesus went into the Holy Temple and declared Himself to be God and one with the Father - the Light of the World.

John 10:22-23 KJV — And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter. And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch.

Yet because the Pharisees were in darkness, they sought to stone Jesus for blasphemy and for making Himself equal with YHVH.

John 10:30-33 KJV — I and my Father are one. Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him. Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

Yet, we know that at His Second Coming, Jesus like as Judah Maccabees the fearless lion will take back the Temple in Israel from the AntiChrist (A New Antiochus Epiphanies). Then the Light of Israel will be seen by all when Yeshua Jesus rules all nations from the Throne of Jerusalem (Psalm 2, Revelation 20, Isaiah 2, Zecheriah 14).

Zechariah 14:6-9 KJV — And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark: But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light. And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be. And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.

A New Antiochus Comes And So Does A New Judah Maccabees!

The rise of the Antichrist in these last days is nearly identical to the events detailed in 1st Maccabees concerning Hanukkah and the invasion of Israel by Antiochus Epiphanies IV. Antiochus is also known as the Little Horn in Daniel 8.

During the 2nd Temple era in Israel, the Assyrian King Antiochus Epiphanies IV rose to power from the Grecian Empire and spoke peaceful words to Israel only to invade Jerusalem soon after when their guard was down. This is mentioned in 1st Maccabees Ch. 1, Verses 29-31, which was included in the 1611 King James Bible.

Antiochus IV took Jerusalem by storm, burning houses, slaughtering the priests and the people and putting the residue in a harsh hellenized bondage. Anyone who sought to follow the commands of God would be killed and tortured publicly. At that time he set up an Abomination of Desolation in the Holy Temple, which is referenced in Daniel 8, 11, and 12.

This is almost an exact shadow of what the coming AntiChrist will do — the Antichrist will confirm a covenant with Israel only to betray the covenant in the middle of the 7 year agreement (Daniel 9:27), he will enter into Jerusalem and will stop the daily animal sacrifices and commit the Abomination of Desolation in the Temple (2 These 2:3), then the outer courtyard will be trampled under foot for 42 months or 3.5 years (Rev. 11), and 2/3rds or Israel will be cut off (Zech. 13).

In the Book of Macabees a Priest named Matatthias and his son Judah resisted the armies of Antiochus in Jerusalem, and took a faithful remnant of Jews into the Mountains for 3.5 years until Judah, as a mighty lion, defeated the armies of the Syrian King and took back the Holy Temple.

This is exactly what will happen in Daniel's 70th Week. The remnant of Israel will flee to the mountains after the Abomination of Desolation (Mat. 24:15-21), they will be protected by the earth for 3.5 years (Rev. 12) most likely in the Rock (Petra), and then Christ the Lion of Judah will return with His Saints to defeat the AntiChrist and His armies just north of Jerusalem at Armageddon and He will save a remnant of Israel and reclaim the Holy City Jerusalem for His Throne. Then Christ will rule from Jerusalem with His saints for 1000 years and will be a Light to all the nations (Zech. 14, Revel. 19-20, Isaiah 2).

Isaiah 62:1-12 BES_KJV — For Sion's sake I will not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until her righteousness go forth as light, and my salvation burn as a torch. And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and kings thy glory: and one shall call thee by a new name, which the Lord shall name. And thou shalt be a crown of beauty in the hand of the Lord, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God. And thou shalt no more be called Forsaken; and thy land shall no more be called Desert: for thou shalt be called My Pleasure, and thy land Inhabited: for the Lord has taken pleasure in thee, and thy land shall be inhabited. And as a young man lives with a virgin, so shall thy sons dwell in thee: and it shall come to pass that as a bridegroom will rejoice over a bride, so will the Lord rejoice over thee. And on thy walls, O Jerusalem, have I set watchmen all day and all night, who shall never cease making mention of the Lord. For there is none like you, when he shall have established, and made Jerusalem a praise on the earth. For the Lord has sworn by his glory, and by the might of his arm, I will no more give thy corn and thy provisions to thine enemies; nor shall strangers any more drink thy wine, for which thou hast laboured. But they that have gathered them shall eat them, and they shall praise the Lord; and they that have gathered the grapes shall drink thereof in my holy courts. Go through my gates, and make a way for my people; and cast the stones out of the way; lift up a standard for the Gentiles. For behold, the Lord has proclaimed to the end of the earth, say ye to the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy Saviour has come to thee, having his reward and his work before his face. And one shall call them the holy people, the redeemed of the Lord: and thou shalt be called a city sought out, and not forsaken.
