The comment "I’m sorry there’s a black man talking" was made by Andrew Schulz during a panel discussion titled "Should People Still Trust the Media in 2025?" at The New York Times DealBook Summit last week.
The panel included Schulz, his co-host Charlamagne tha God, Jon Favreau (Crooked Media), Amna Nawaz (PBS NewsHour), Ben Shapiro, Stephanie Ruhle, and David Remnick (The New Yorker), and was moderated by Michael Barbaro.
Schulz's comment was a comedic/sarcastic interjection, in reference to Charlamagne, during a heated debate about the role of journalists versus personality-driven media.

It was refreshing to see that we’ve gotten to the point that we can joke like this again, instead of being offended by everything.
