Pres. Trump signs executive order blocking state regulations for AI

Trump just signed an AI executive order that basically tells the states:
“AI is federal now. Sit down.”

For years there was no real national standard, Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” tore up Biden’s safety valves and replaced them with a deregulation love letter that created no enforceable protections for anyone. None.
So states like California and New York scrambled to pass their own AI laws just to plug the vacuum.

Now this new EO swoops in to centralize control in D.C and kneecap stricter state rules in the name of uniformity.
Translation:
standardized protections for AI companies, not for the people getting farmed as data and collateral.

Meanwhile, look at the physical

Europe is busy using data centers’ waste heat to warm homes and melt ice.
The U.S. is busy dropping hyperscale AI farms in deserts and stressed grids, sucking dry what’s left and gambling on no environmental catastrophe.

I wonder about their disaster recovery plans…

So no, Trump didn’t fix AI or standardize anything for you.
He deregulated the field, forced states to improvise guardrails, and is now using federal power to clear the runway for the AI cartel.
