When installed, the RedCat locks the hammer back and away from the sear rendering the rifle completely inert. It will not fire under any circumstances. With no outward indication the RedCat provides a secondary level of protection against misuse.
However, in certain cases, it’s advantageous to have a reminder that the RedCat is installed…like during group training, mission rehearsals or while on your own in a deployed environment.
