Soy is one of the world's largest agricultural crops. We now produce more than 13 times the amount of soy that we did in the 1960s. While people might think that human food is the biggest use for soy, only 20% of the soy produced is used for human consumption. The remaining 80% of soy is used for feeding pigs and chickens in large farm operations.
Brazil is the world's leading producer of soy, with U.S.A. being the second. The amount of land used for soy production in the U.S. has more than doubled since the year 2000.

They need ideal drying conditions prior to cutting the plants so that the crops will store properly and stay viable for shipping. Soy farming is a difficult, but beautiful process, especially when viewed from the air, as this drone footage shows us.
China is the world's largest importer of soy, using it to produce tofu, soy sauce, and other soy products for human consumption. The recent changes in trade between various countries has turned the world economic partnerships upside down.
