S4T Friday Zoom Dec 12th - Salad, Debates & Traitors

If you’re feeling like the world is upside down, you’re not imagining it. When a immigration committee hearing about serious national issues turns into a moment where a MP Diab says she prefers tabouli salad and that is her "culture", it says everything about how mixed-up things have become.

That comment wasn’t about food, it was about how casually responsibility is being treated in places that are supposed to demand seriousness and accountability. Just a week later, Conservative MP Michael Ma crossed the floor to join the Liberals, abandoning the very people who elected him.

At the same time, we saw public pushback building against Bill C-9, yet Liberal amendments sailed through committee. Public concern is growing, legal questions are mounting, and Parliament just keeps moving the file forward as if none of it matters.

Work on the Bill C-3 judicial review is continuing, and we’ll walk through where things stand, the fundamental procedural flaws and next steps.

If the week left you shaking your head and asking “how is this real life?”, you’ll be in good company on tonight’s Friday Zoom!
