Tim Walz Serves Up Stunning Word Salad On Minnesota Fraud

Posted • December 12, 2025: In the past couple of weeks, the eyes of the nation were finally turned on the massive fraud in Minnesota, which involved more than $1 billion in taxpayer dollars siphoned from federal programs. As we reported, the House Oversight Committee and the Treasury Department have launched probes into the fraud and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz's response to it. Oversight Committee Chair, Republican Rep. James Comer (KY-01), also threatened subpoenas if they didn't turn over the information he was requesting. But during a press conference on Friday, Walz launched into a word salad worthy of Kamala Harris and tried to shift the focus from the fact that most of the people charged so far were Somalis. Instead, Walz spoke about white men, spewing a confused rant that didn't make a lot of sense. —— Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz attempts to shift the blame from the Somali community in the state's widespread fraud scandal.

Walz wants to talk about "white men," but not about the facts in this case. What he should be saying simply is that we're going to hold the people who committed crimes here responsible. Instead, he claimed it was a "hard reach" to blame any community for not stopping the fraud. No, it's not a "reach" to blame those who have been convicted of doing it. It's also not a reach to question why Walz didn't do more to stop this and why, even now, he seems to be downplaying this. “I think we continue to educate folks about why they shouldn't commit crimes. You would hope that it's being taught both at home and at schools and in our society. But no, I think this idea that the Somali community is to blame for this because they didn't do more — I think that's how we got into this.” —— Seriously? They have to educate people on why they shouldn't commit crimes? He actually blamed President Donald Trump for calling attention to the fraud, which takes some nerve. Blaming people for not doing more is "how we got into this"? What does that even mean? (…)
