"Casper's First Christmas" is an animated special based on Harvey Cartoons' "Casper the Friendly Ghost" cartoons and produced by Hanna-Barbera. It premiered on NBC on December 18, 1979. Despite the title, it is actually the second Christmas production starring Casper (the first being the theatrical short "True Boo" from 27 years earlier), and is also a crossover with the Yogi Bear franchise.
The plot follows Casper and his friend Hairy Scary, who are in a house about to be demolished on Christmas Eve and go out to look for a new place to move to after Christmas in California. Meanwhile, Yogi and his friends get lost and arrive at Casper and Hairy's house and clean and decorate it to celebrate Christmas. Casper befriends Yogi and company only for Hairy to try to ruin the party with Casper and his new friends. In the end, Hairy has a change of heart and celebrates Christmas with Casper and his new friends, and Santa Claus saves the house and turns it into Hairy's Haunting Lodge.
