Episode 1418: FROM WHOM is God Himself hiding the gospel?

Hello everyone. In this morning's Bible study we ATTEMPT once again to wrap up our study on the church at Pergamos however no matter how hard I try, I can't get past a few words.

Hence today's study will not be our final study on this church.

Our focus today will be to fully understand this statement the Lord Jesus made to the church at Pergamos. Revelation 2:17a (NKJV) 17 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches..."

He who has an ear? Yes. Do you mean a physical ear? NO, a spiritual ear.

Can everyone have this spiritual ear? NO, to some angels and humans it is given to them by God to hear directly from Him.

To all other angels and humans God does not grant them the ability to hear from Him or about Him.

Wait, wait, wait, hold up Kevin. What are saying? Are you saying that God has PURPOSELY DETERMINED that some will go to heaven and others will go to hell? No, I didn't say that, God did.

Do you know when the Lord Jesus mentioned this to the disciples, they immediately asked the same question? Did the Lord recant His statement? Of course not, He doubled and tripled down.

Friend, the scriptures explains this process in almost every book. Let me give you a couple of examples without expounding.

Matthew 13:10-11 (NKJV)
10 And the disciples came and said to Him, “Why do You speak to them in parables?” (Why are you keeping them from understanding what you are saying?)
11 He (the Lord Jesus who happens to be God) answered and said to them, “Because (He's My reason fellas) IT HAS BE GIVEN TO YOU to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but TO THEM IT HAS NOT BEEN GIVEN.

Whoa, wait, what?! Come on Lord. What do You to them it has not been give? I didn't stutter, what does it sound like, I have determined NOT TO ALLOW THEM TO KNOW THE TRUTH ABOUT THE GOSPEL.

I am God and that is My prerogative. Oh and by the way, there is absolutely, positively nothing any of MY creation can do about it.

Friend, the God of the Bible is Sovereign. He doesn't take orders, He gives commands and if they are not adhered to then He judges. The LORD God omnipotent is the Sovereign King over all creation and He does whatsoever He wills in the heavens above and the earth beneath. None can stay His hand nor say to Him, what are You doing and why did You do that.

The problem most people have is that they have a god of their own imagination and that is the one that they control with their standard of morality and fairness. That is not the God of scripture.
