WHY DID ACTIVISTS STORM THE BBC?

On Thursday, 11th December 2025, activists stormed the headquarters of the BBC, calling out this media outlet for failing to remain neutral throughout Israel’s military campaign in Gaza.

Protesters also used it as an opportunity to shame the British Broadcasting Company for failing to effectively document the plight of the hunger strikers currently imprisoned for allegedly targeting a factory owned by Elbit Systems, an Israeli private arms company responsible for creating components for drones used to kill Palestinians across occupied Palestine.

Bypassing the barriers and security guards, activists rushed into the BBC after marching through the streets following a mobilisation outside Downing Street.

Earlier that evening, the Irish community, who themselves know too well about the plight of a hunger strike, joined roughly 200-300 people outside Downing Street in central London to remind the UK government that there are currently 33 people in total who have been imprisoned for Palestine without having a trial.

As the hunger strikers enter a critical stage, it appears that the Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, a former human rights lawyer, will allow his very own citizens to starve to death.
