Part 2 of 2. This the truth about gaining too much muscle. High reps are not the way to "tone" because you can induce great muscle gain with high reps... just takes forever and makes it more difficult to hit all muscle groups enough throughout the week. Higher reps makes it easier to stay away from close to muscular failure, which is important for gaining muscle.

Most important thing I want to highlight in this part 2 is, try to manage your outward comparisons. A lot of times people think that they look bulky if their bones have a little greater circumference than runway models. If you only make comparisons to your previous self and improve from that standpoint, then you will feel a lot more energized and motivated to continue your healthy behaviors.

By the way, "tone" just means hypertophy aka gaining muscle. "Bulky" is really never just composed of muscle. If you want benefit of lifting without "too much" muscle, stay 4 to 7 reps away from not being able to lift they weight anymore. How much volume (sets and reps added altogether) per you do also increases muscle mass. So, not going up in weight reps per exercise will net you the benefits of weight lifting without being too muscular.
