My Role as Your Coach | A Special Message from Rabbi Berkson

Rabbi Berkson frames his role not as being nice or popular, but as a coach whose job is to wake people up, push them hard, and get them “running the race” in life and in their spiritual walk. He stresses that God will judge people based on effort and what they do with what they’ve been given, using the parable of the talents to argue that the real issue is whether you maximized yourself, not how big your numbers look.

He warns that many people drift through life like extras in a movie, blaming parents, groups, or circumstances, and then end up at 60–65 miserable, broke, unhealthy, in bad relationships, or alone—essentially living in what they themselves built. He urges anyone under 50 to urgently fix their spiritual, financial, health, and relationship patterns now, to plan where they want to be in 1–10 years, and to stop reacting mindlessly and wasting time.

He rejects critics and unproven “experts,” telling listeners to ignore negative influences that could derail them and to see his tough, relentless style as loving coaching, driven by the reality of mortality and the belief that God placed them under his teaching because they can do more.
