In 2007 the CDC director Julie Gerberding went on CNN to discuss the case of Hannah Poling, a child with autism who had also been diagnosed with vaccine encephalopathy, and compensated by the vaccine injury compensation program for her vaccine injury. Gerberding would not refer to Hannah as a child with autism, or vaccine encephalopathy, but described her as having "autism like symptoms." Sanjay Gupta asked her the most important question in Hanna's case "what is the difference between "autism" and "autism like symptoms" (vaccine encephalopathy). The public has been asking this question ever since, because the primary symptoms of both autism and vaccine induced encephalopathy according to HHS , are loss of eye contact, and not seeming to recognize familiar people or places. There is no record of any answer from medical authorities as the question has been repeatedly asked since 2007. Is "autism" and "vaccine induced encephalopathy" the same thing?
