Australian Cops Failed at Bondi Beach

Australian authorities confirmed that the deadly Bondi Beach attack in Sydney on December 14, 2025, was an antisemitic terrorist attack carried out during a Hanukkah celebration. Police identified the attackers as Sajid Akram, 50, and his son Naveed Akram, 24. At least 15 to 16 people were killed, including children and elderly victims, and more than 40 others were injured after the attackers opened fire on crowds using long-barrelled firearms.

The shooting lasted approximately six minutes and caused mass panic across Bondi Beach. Sajid Akram was killed at the scene, while Naveed Akram survived and remains in custody under heavy guard. Authorities confirmed the attackers acted alone and said there is no evidence of a broader terror cell involved. Investigators also confirmed the motive was antisemitic, with reporting showing one of the attackers had previously been investigated for extremist ties.

The attack is the deadliest mass shooting in Australia since the Port Arthur massacre and has triggered national mourning, increased police protection for Jewish communities, and renewed debate over terrorism, antisemitism, and public safety at religious events. Vigils have been held across Sydney as the investigation continues.
