Barefoot Boy, 1938

The pampered and conceited young Kenneth Hale is sent to the country home of an old friend, Calvin Whittaker, by his father, John Hale, who has served time in prison for a crime he did not commit. Kenneth, his girlfriend Pige Bennett, and barefoot, honest, and courageous Billy Whittaker become entangled in a gang of thieves and a "haunted" house as Billy helps turn Kenneth into a "better man."
