1 Peter 1-5 Explained | Suffering Like Jesus | 12/20/25

In today’s reading from 1 Peter 1–5, Peter calls believers to live with an eternal perspective—born again into a living hope and anchored in the salvation to be revealed when Jesus returns. Suffering isn’t a surprise or a detour; it’s often the refining fire God uses to shape Christlike character, especially when we are mistreated despite doing good. Jesus Himself modeled this perfectly—fully submitted to the Father, refusing retaliation, and trusting God to redeem it all. As we desire God’s Word like newborn milk, we grow up into salvation and learn to serve in love without needing recognition or resolution in this life.
