The Image Refused — A Song from Daniel 3

The Prayer of Azariah doesn’t appear in the Hebrew Scriptures
and it isn’t part of the King James Bible.

It shows up later, in the Greek tradition, placed into Daniel 3.
But in the biblical account, the heart of the chapter isn’t a formal prayer.
It’s the refusal to bow —
and the choice to trust God even if deliverance never comes (Dan 3:18).

Daniel 3 is about faithfulness.
Keeping God’s commandments.
Not conforming to image-worship or the system behind it.

The placement is interesting too.
Daniel is full of end-time imagery,
and this chapter points forward to the same test we see again in Revelation.

This song was written from that example —
not as a ritual,
but as a response of obedience and trust.
We will not bow.
