Parov Stelar - Artifact (2025)
Parov Stelar, a genre anarchist from Austria, released the album Artifact, and the internet went wild. Why? Because somewhere in the process of creating it, he shook hands with artificial intelligence. The album cover? AI. The video? AI. The music? Maybe, who knows. Some people are gnashing their teeth, shouting, “Robots are stealing our music!” Meanwhile, the rest are just nodding along because it's really good. Does it transcend genres? Absolutely. Disco intertwines with electronica, rock sneaks in through the back door, piercing vocals come from somewhere above, and pop choruses pat you on the shoulder like a slightly annoying but irresistible friend. Each song shares the same DNA, so yes, they seem related, but there is enough variety to keep you from falling asleep in the middle of the album. This is not fiery rave music for cardio workouts; this is the kind of music you want to sip something expensive to while reflecting on all your life decisions and, perhaps, even your attitude toward AI. So, for analog sound enthusiasts who carefully store their vinyl records as if they were sacred relics, this album may seem like a kind of deception. For all other mortals, Artifact is a luxurious, smoky, slightly dangerous journey into a world where artificial intelligence whispers sweet nothings in your ear, Lana Del Rey clones roam the dance floor, and Parov Stelar just smirks from the shadows, knowing that he has created the sexiest, most genre-defying album of the year without even trying.
In short: Artifact is a cocktail of noir, passion, and electronica, served in a glass decorated with artificial intelligence. Let's drink up!
