Irreducible complexity is a complex piece of machinery that cannot function without all its parts. Take for example a mouse trap. It has nine parts and will not function if any one of those parts are removed. At the cellular level, we see such machines. One great example is the flagellum motor. It has over 30 parts, and needs every one single one of them to be able to function.
