[Spoken Intro - Over soft piano]

Let me tell you something about that journey.

Mary was heavy with child, and Joseph knew what the prophecy said.

They had to go to Bethlehem because David's line runs deep.

The road was long and dusty, but they went anyway.

Because when God makes a promise, somebody has to walk it out.

[Verse 1]

Joseph packed what little they had

Mary couldn't ride fast, but she didn't complain

The census called them to the city

But Heaven had already written the ending

Every step was a prophecy coming to pass

Every mile brought the promise closer

They didn't know about the stable yet

They just knew they had to obey

[Chorus]

He was faithful to go

She was faithful to carry

And the baby in her womb

Was faithful before He breathed

The line of David kept its word

Generation after generation

Until that night in Bethlehem

When the promise became flesh

[Verse 2]

I imagine Mary's hands on her belly

Feeling the King kick inside her

Joseph watching the road ahead

Knowing he was leading more than his wife

They were bringing salvation on a donkey

They were carrying hope through the wilderness

The world didn't roll out a carpet

But Heaven was holding its breath

[Chorus]

He was faithful to go

She was faithful to carry

And the baby in her womb

Was faithful before He breathed

The line of David kept its word

Generation after generation

Until that night in Bethlehem

When the promise became flesh

[Bridge - Building]

From Abraham to David

From David to that road

From that road to a feeding trough

Where the Almighty made Himself small

[Vamp - High energy, repetitive]

Faithful to go

Faithful to carry

Faithful before He breathed

(Yes He was)

Faithful to go

Faithful to carry

(The promise became flesh)

Faithful before He breathed

Faithful, faithful

(Oh He was faithful)

Faithful, faithful
