Hey everyone — it’s Leaflit! In today’s video I’m reacting to Asmongold’s video “IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED…” about the U.S. House of Representatives voting to ban certain medical procedures on minors that aim to change or alter their bodies in ways that are irreversible and inappropriate for children.

This vote — which passed 216 – 211 in the House — is being hailed by many as a long overdue step to protect children from very serious, permanent procedures before they’re old enough to make fully informed decisions.

Protecting kids matters: Children are still developing mentally and physically. Many people — including medical professionals and parents — believe that permanent medical changes shouldn’t be allowed until a person is mature enough to fully understand the lifelong consequences of those decisions.

This vote wasn’t about politics — it was about safety: The House bill makes it a felony for adults to provide certain irreversible procedures to minors, aiming to stop what opponents call mutilation of children.

I’m supportive of this move: It’s about protecting vulnerable kids from adults or ideologies that normalize serious medical procedures on youth. We should always err on the side of safeguarding children’s futures.

Critics jump to emotional arguments: Opponents say this interferes in private medical decisions or parental rights, but many of those same “rights” arguments brush aside the obvious long-term consequences these procedures often carry.

What comes next: This House bill still has to pass the Senate and face other hurdles, but the fact Congress moved this far shows many lawmakers are finally listening to sensible, common-sense concerns over children’s wellbeing.
