Dreaming of

This is about how much snow we got early this morning. I'm saying a prayer it sticks through Christmas but with highs in the 40s it doesn't seem likely. It was pretty and quiet when I woke up, almost like I remember from childhood. Remember when our parents would wake us up early to go outside and enjoy the 'sound of white'? The whole world was both bright and dark, shrouded and calm, yet bursting with potential. It was beautiful and simple and clean and I just yearn to experience it again. Even Rowan and Ash were peaceful this morning, letting me get their gooshy food prepped. I think Rowan and I have finally struck the right balance, half of the gooshy, every other day to keep her appetite up and the prescription diet the rest of the time. She hasn't needed pills in a few weeks, hasn't needed IV fluids in months. Always keeping her in my prayers though, I can't lose my little velcro shadow yet.
