Paula Hitler: Statement About Her Brother, Adolf Hitler

Paula Hitler ( January 21 , 1896 – June 1 , 1960 ) was the younger sister of Adolf Hitler . She was the only one of Hitler's siblings to reach adulthood.

During World War II she worked as a secretary in a military hospital. At the end of the war she was arrested by American forces and interrogated. During interrogation, Paula is said to have said that she could not believe that her brother was responsible for the Holocaust , and the interrogators interpreted this as loyalty between siblings. When she was released, she moved to Vienna, where she lived until 1952 , when she moved to Berchtesgaden. She lived there until her death in 1960. She never had any children. She is buried at the Bergfriedhof in Berchtesgaden under the name Paula Hitler.
