THE TRAPS THAT SNAP!
Extremely effective, but a little risky to set.

Yesterday I showed how a high-tech rat trap had its advantages and disadvantages. It was all-too-easy to set and to bait, it also afforded for completely sanitary disposal of the dead rodent. It even showed itself to be easy to clean for re-use. BUT ... THERE IS A CATCH!

It didn't trip dependably meaning any rat could probably have a four course meal on the trigger and, when finished with its meal it could pause for dessert ... and the trap would not snap! I all but beat a couple of these to death with pencils while seeing only a single snap out of about a dozen attempts.

Today I'm showing a low-tech rat trap which has advantages and disadvantages. It assures a quick humane kill as yesterday's high-tech trap promised but never delivered. It's simple but risky to set with a few caveats like "don't lose a finger in the process."

Setting this time-tested and long-proven low-tech trap requires a great deal of caution and no small amount of finger strength. It offers two different sensitivity levels for tripping the trap, and that's cool but ... I used a clamp to hold down the kill bale while I set it up. All the time I realized there was no promise it wouldn't come crashing down on my 70+ year old arthritic fingers. It also took both hands to set it.

BOTTOM LINE: THIS TRAP SNAPS ... YA MIGHT BREAK A KNUCKLE
