EU’s Latest ‘Loan’ To Ukraine Will Never Be Repaid

On December 19, after a contentious meeting of EU leaders, the EU decided to ‘loan’ another €90 billion to Ukraine.

The decision represented a blow to the governments of Germany, France and the U.K., which lobbied hard to use frozen Russian assets to continue funding NATO’s failed proxy war.

Moreover, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic refused to participate in the ‘loan’ after Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán argued that Ukraine will never be able to repay it.

To discuss the significance of these developments, Dimitri Lascaris speaks with John Helmer, the longest continuously serving foreign correspondent in Moscow.
