The last day of humanity is about to dawn. Impassively, the automaton murmurs a prayer for the body of the last Man abandoned on the ground. Efficient, the new mechanical population returns to work!

Hail, oh Machine,
oh polished and serrated iron
you who exitenter through iron sheaths
and imitate the effort of muscles
quick, gleaming, without rest,
and whirl in wheels of nothing
and if you latch onto a Human body
you crush it like an insect
and you make the torrents of Men live
as the Providence of the ant-hills!

And forged the machines
to forge the machines,
the unique heroines ever more future
in the dramas of life and stage!

A monstrous female
will mate with a monstrous male.
The Impossible Children of the Future will be born.
Limbs will be of iron, but ethereal:
and fire energy, but unlit.

Let the energetic night
have its most worthy song,
the color and taste of lightning.
Let it murmur – Love –
to a blonde virgin, pearlized in tears,
and hear the roar through the silences of the night
of the iron horde in billions
of the future worker Caesars.

All factory sirens hissed
and from the dazzling pour emeralds and rubies
an automaton rose
spirals of electric wires on its head
under its dynamo-forehead two sun-headlights
and the megaphone-mouth of the humanized automaton
shouted to the prostrate World:

I shatter your idols
sweep away your greedy religions
break the seals of your eyes
and flood all hearts
with torrents of revolutionary blood.

With dynamic and violent strokes
the automaton recreates all of nature
throws dizzying architectures to the sky
and in the polydimensional scenic space
it unfolds the new rites of Human mystery.

3.
All of life vibrates
in ever-increasing speed.
There are machines
which are true organisms,
which have real intelligence,
which have passing diseases
and chronic diseases,
which carry wounds
healable in many days,
there are machines
which die of an apoplectic stroke.

The machine has become the evident
necessary extension
of the laboring nerves.
Every worker is in love
with his own machine,
and so he is fiercely jealous of it
and claims its merits
over those of his comrades’ machines.
Perhaps the machine will soon
be our only lover
possibly desirable.

4.
Birth! Mechanical brains!
Accumulation of thinking dynamos!
Furious sums of calculations!
Will without nerves!
Accelerated reason!

Away with Man!
Away with hesitant Flesh!
Sentiment-ballast!
Defective memory!
Organic residue!
Dust of the past!
Sentimental slag
in the vertiginous race of the Future!

Automatic cities remain!
The electric nights
and the steel minds on guard!

Future without Man!
Future without memory!
Absolute infinite mechanical Future!

5.
The automaton, the cold lights,
on the ground the abandoned body-shell
of the Last Man.
I hope he finds his God!
Its gaze reflects metal-nothing.

The Lord is my shepherd! – a murmur –
He guides me through the endless gears!
He leads me into the whirlpool
of electric waters!
The limbs do not bend,
it remains still
gazing at the naked stars.

Eternity shattered,
dark and mute light.
The automaton quickly returns to work.

Rise up against the Masters of the World
Or die slowly as a slave kissing your chains
